This innovative box from Thin Film Service provides an easy and economical way to add the protection of our advanced DLC technology to E-beam coatings.
Optical films usually require a variety of layers (high and low index to refract light). These are typically delicate and need DLC as a final layer to protect against the environment. Our add-on box is a much less expensive way for users to add DLC compared with purchasing a separate standalone DLC coater.
Also, some E-beam optical layers have a short “shelf life,” so the protective cover layer should be applied as soon as possible. Our special box allows DLC to be deposited in the same coater as the other optical films without breaking vacuum, a significant advantage.
